Red Ember Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Debtors / Credit Controller in Centurion, South Africa. The ideal candidate will independently manage the full debtors function, ensure accurate account management and follow up on outstanding payments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ Debtors / Credit Control experience – essential
• Strong experience in the full debtors function
• Excellent numerical and reconciliation skills
• Strong debt collection and follow-up skills
• Good knowledge of Sage / Pastel
• Understanding of VAT and basic accounting principles
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong communication and customer-service skills
• Able to follow up firmly but professionally
• Strong organisational and administrative skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer accounts.
• Allocate payments to the correct customer accounts.
• Investigate and resolve account discrepancies.
• Follow up on outstanding and overdue invoices.
• Contact customers regarding overdue accounts and payment arrangements.
• Send statements, reminders and payment requests.
• Handle customer queries relating to invoices, payments and account balances.
• Investigate and resolve disputed invoices.
• Prepare and monitor Debtors Age Analysis reports.
• Report on collections, overdue accounts and debtor balances.
• Monitor customer credit limits and payment terms.
• Assist with credit applications and customer account reviews.
• Reconcile the Debtors Control Account.
• Assist with month-end accounts receivable procedures.
• Ensure invoices and payments are correctly captured before month-end.
• Maintain accurate debtor records and supporting documentation.
• Assist the Finance Department with audits and general accounting duties.
