Job summary

FirstRand Bank India seeks a senior Data Modeller to execute modelling standards and design end-to-end data models across banking domains. You will work with relational, dimensional and NoSQL databases to support payment systems, settlements and reconciliations.

You will develop conceptual, logical and physical models, adopt enterprise standards, and deliver test scripts and reports. Collaboration with stakeholders across business units is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 - 5 years' experience in a data environment with hands-on relational, dimensional and analytic experience.
• Experience with data warehouse, data lake and enterprise big data platforms in multi-data-center contexts.
• Proven experience in modeling end-to-end payment lifecycles, including clearing, settlement and reconciliation processes (e.g. Swift, ISO20022).
• Knowledge of logical data modelling, and use of industry data models (e.g. IBM, Teradata, etc.).
• Knowledge of dimensional data modelling using Kimball methodology.
• Understanding of the Inmon methodology.
• Developing data models in a banking environment with specific focus on payment systems.
• Understanding and experience in implementing data management domains and technologies (e.g. data modelling, metadata management, data quality and profiling, information architecture, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Execute data modelling standards, principles, frameworks and tools within area of accountability.
• Design and develop logical and physical data models and databases to meet business requirements.
• Develop and maintain conceptual, logical and physical data models.
• Identify and adopt an enterprise data model as a standard for designs.
• Monitor, measure and report data modelling quality levels.
• Amend data model designs as business processes change.
• Perform reverse engineering of physical data models from existing databases and SQL scripts.
• Ensure coverage of entities to respond to business requirements.
• Develop and manage stakeholder relations to promote data modelling awareness.
• Deliver test scripts for data models and supporting documents.
• Develop reports pertaining to data modelling and related activities.
• Drive automation of data modelling management processes.
