Job summary

FirstRand Bank India is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to expand and optimize data pipeline architecture and data delivery for multiple cross‑functional teams. You will build scalable ETL processes, maintain data stores, and ensure data governance across national boundaries.

The role requires strong SQL, big data tooling (Hadoop/Spark/Kafka), and experience with data warehouse platforms. You will partner with engineers, analysts, and product teams to drive analytics initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in managing financial services data, especially as a data architect.
• Advanced data analysis skills using Excel, Abinitio, SQL and reporting tools to import, analyse and report on data.
• Relative certifications.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture meeting functional and non-functional requirements.
• Identify and implement internal process improvements: automate manual processes and optimize data delivery.
• Build infrastructure for ETL using SQL and big data technologies.
• Implement analytics tools that provide insights into customer acquisition and operational metrics.
• Collaborate with Executive, Product, Data and Design teams on data infrastructure needs.
• Ensure data governance and security across internal systems.
• Develop scripts for database maintenance, monitoring, and performance tuning.
• Lead innovation in big data platforms for advanced analytics.
