Job summary

Bank in Johannesburg seeks a senior data professional to own advanced analytics and data engineering initiatives within the corporate Banking team.

You will design scalable data processes, build dashboards in Power BI/Fabric, and collaborate with data governance and lending teams to drive automated, value‑driven reporting.

This role emphasises independence, strategic thinking and strong stakeholder engagement in a hybrid work model (4 days in office, 1 remote).

• Strong stakeholder engagement, delivering actionable outputs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, adapting to audiences.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable data processes using Power BI/Fabric, Databricks, and Data Factory.
• Act as trusted partner to stakeholders with transparent communication.
• Own the report lifecycle: change control, monitor failures, ensure relevance.
• Own solutions with minimal oversight: scoping, design, dev, test, deploy.
• Capture non‑strategic data elements when needed and identify long-term solutions.
• Collaborate with Lending Data team to source data from ODP and shared lending data.
• Identify data sources not yet in ODP and bring them into the data ecosystem.
• Work with Data Governance to define critical data elements for Real Estate.
