Job summary

Exceed Human Resource Consultants is seeking a senior BI professional to design and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards, build data models, and drive data quality across hospitality, ecommerce, retail and financial reporting.

You will collaborate with stakeholders, manage BI projects from requirements to implementation, and leverage SQL and Microsoft Fabric to deliver self-service analytics and actionable insights.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics or Business Analytics.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics or a similar role.
• Advanced Power BI skills, including DAX, Power Query, data modelling and Power BI Service.
• Experience with or strong willingness to work with Microsoft Fabric.
• Strong SQL skills and experience analysing complex datasets.
• Proven ability to develop meaningful business metrics, KPIs and reporting solutions.
• Strong understanding of data quality, validation and reporting accuracy.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Experience with Tableau or Google Data Studio advantageous.
• Hospitality, e-commerce, retail or financial reporting experience advantageous.
• Experience with ERP, POS or hospitality systems such as Sage, Opera or Simphony advantageous.
• Exposure to AI-enabled analytics and self-service reporting tools advantageous.
• Experience with Jira and documentation tools advantageous.
• Afrikaans proficiency advantageous.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Analyse business operations and identify key performance drivers across multiple estates.
• Develop and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards using Microsoft Fabric.
• Manage business intelligence projects from requirements gathering to implementation.
• Design data models, semantic models and data transformations.
• Use SQL to extract, validate and analyse data from multiple sources.
• Define and monitor KPIs, including leading and lagging performance indicators.
• Analyse business trends, identify performance gaps and provide actionable recommendations.
• Maintain consistent metric definitions and reporting standards across business units.
• Investigate data discrepancies and ensure reporting accuracy.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into reporting solutions.
• Support self-service analytics and improve reporting efficiency.
• Maintain technical documentation and optimise reporting systems.
