Placements24 client in Rustenburg, North West, seeks a skilled Control Systems Engineer to maintain and optimize PLC, SCADA, and DCS systems for uptime in mining and heavy industry. Design, implement, and troubleshoot control solutions; develop interfaces and data logging; and collaborate with operations and other engineering disciplines to drive automation improvements.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering with at least six years in

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering.
Minimum of 6 years of experience in industrial control systems engineering.
Proficiency with PLC programming platforms (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell Automation, ABB).
Experience in SCADA system development and configuration.
Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Profibus, Modbus, Ethernet/IP).
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in a production environment.

Responsibilities

Design, program, and commission PLC and SCADA systems.
Develop and maintain control logic, user interfaces, and data logging for industrial processes.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex control system issues in real-time to minimize production downtime.
Perform system upgrades and modifications, ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure.
Conduct regular maintenance and performance monitoring of control systems.
Collaborate with operational teams and other engineering disciplines to identify automation improvements.
