Qualifications

About the Role

Our client seeks a seasoned and astute Senior Contracts Manager to oversee the contractual aspects of major construction projects in the prestigious Sandton area. This role requires a deep understanding of contract law, negotiation strategies, and risk management within the construction industry. You will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and managing a portfolio of complex contracts, ensuring compliance and protecting the company's interests. This is a key leadership position for an individual with a proven track record in managing high-value construction contracts and contributing to strategic business decisions in the Gauteng region.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate various construction contracts, including EPC, FIDIC, and bespoke agreements.
• Manage the entire contract lifecycle, from tender stage through to project completion and close-out.
• Oversee contract administration, including managing variations, claims, disputes, and extensions of time.
• Advise project teams on contractual rights, obligations, and potential risks.
• Liaise with legal counsel on complex contractual matters and dispute resolution.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and South African contract law.

Requirements

• Law degree or equivalent qualification in Contract Management, Construction Law, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction contracts management.
• Extensive experience with various forms of contract used in the construction industry.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in contract management software and MS Office Suite.
