Job summary

Placements24 seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead construction and development projects in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. You will oversee planning, design, procurement, and on-site execution to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to high quality standards.

The role requires 6+ years in construction project management, strong leadership, and proficiency in MS Project or Primavera. Hybrid work is offered with on-site supervision in Richards Bay and flexible arrangements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in construction project management.
• Proven experience managing medium to large-scale construction projects from inception to completion.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and construction management tools.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Experience with contract administration and dispute resolution.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various project sites within KwaZulu-Natal.
• Familiarity with the local construction market in Richards Bay is a significant advantage.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets for construction projects.
• Oversee all on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to safety regulations and quality standards.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Manage procurement processes, including tendering and contract negotiation with vendors.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, permits, and regulations in Richards Bay.
• Conduct regular site inspections and project status meetings.
• Manage project documentation, including progress reports, change orders, and close-out documentation.
• Liaise with clients and stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status and performance.
• Control project costs and ensure projects are completed within allocated budgets in KwaZulu-Natal.
