Job summary

Placements24, on behalf of a leading construction firm, seeks a seasoned Contracts Manager to oversee commercial and legal aspects of major projects in Polokwane and Limpopo. You will draft, review, and negotiate contracts to protect the firm's interests and ensure contractual integrity.

You will lead contract administration across the project lifecycle, manage variations, claims, and disputes, and provide strategic guidance to project teams and senior management on procurement and risk

Qualifications

• A law degree or a degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in construction contract management.
• Extensive knowledge of standard forms of contract (e.g., NEC, FIDIC) and South African contract law.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and dispute resolution skills.
• Experience working on large-scale infrastructure or building projects in the Polokwane area.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate construction contracts, subcontracts, and consultancy agreements.
• Manage contract administration throughout the project lifecycle, including variations, claims, and disputes.
• Ensure all contractual obligations are met by the company and by third parties.
• Provide expert advice on contractual matters to project teams and senior management.
• Develop and implement contract management strategies to minimize risk and maximize value.
• Conduct contract audits and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and company policies.
