Job summary

Placements24 is assisting a client in finding a Senior Concept Artist to drive the visual development of upcoming gaming projects. This fully remote role enables you to work from anywhere while collaborating with a team of artists, designers, and developers to establish the look and feel of immersive virtual worlds.

You will create stunning concept art for characters, environments, props, and mood boards, and work closely with the art director to refine style and direction across projects.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Concept Artist in gaming with a strong portfolio.
• Proficiency in Photoshop for intricate concept art.
• Strong understanding of anatomy, perspective, color theory, lighting and composition.
• Ability to design concepts across styles from realistic to stylized.
• Excellent communication and remote collaboration skills.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly talented and imaginative Senior Concept Artist to contribute to the visual development of their exciting new gaming projects. This fully remote role allows you to work from anywhere, collaborating with a talented team of artists, designers, and developers to define the aesthetic direction of our games. You will be responsible for creating stunning visual concepts for characters, environments, props, and mood pieces that establish the look and feel of our virtual worlds. Key Responsibilities

• Create high-quality concept art for characters, environments, props, and key art assets.
• Collaborate closely with the art director and game design team to define and refine the visual style and direction of projects.
• Develop detailed visual treatments, mood boards, and style guides to communicate artistic vision.
• Iterate on designs based on feedback from the art director and game development team.
• Contribute to world-building and narrative development through compelling visual storytelling.
• Maintain a high level of artistic output and efficiency in a remote work environment.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Concept Artist in the gaming industry, with a portfolio showcasing exceptional talent and diverse skills.
• Proficiency in industry-standard digital painting software such as Photoshop.
• Strong understanding of anatomy, perspective, color theory, lighting, and composition.
• Ability to create concepts across various styles, from realistic to stylized.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, comfortable working in a remote team setting.
• Experience with 3D concepting tools (e.g., ZBrush, Blender) is a plus.
