Job summary

Placements24 is recruiting a Chief Compliance Officer in Port Elizabeth to drive the company’s regulatory strategy and risk management. The role leads the compliance function, develops programs, and collaborates with regulators and senior management to ensure adherence to FAIS, FICA, POPIA, and international standards.

You will oversee training, audits, and reporting while promoting an ethical culture and managing a dedicated compliance team in a hybrid working model across the Eastern Cape.

Qualifications

• A law degree or equivalent in compliance or finance.
• Master's degree or professional certification (CCEP/CRM) is advantageous.
• 7–10 years in compliance, legal, or risk management in financial services.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive regulatory compliance program.
• Oversee regulatory filings and reporting obligations.
• Conduct risk assessments and audits to mitigate risks.
• Lead and deliver compliance training for all staff.
• Advise management on regulatory changes and strategy.
• Liaise with regulators, auditors, and legal counsel.
• Promote a strong ethical culture across the organization.
• Manage and mentor the compliance team.
