Placements24 is seeking an experienced Commodities Trader for the Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal office. You will manage and execute trades across energy, metals, and agricultural markets, optimizing positions and driving profitability through robust risk management.

The role requires a strong quantitative background, 5+ years in commodities trading, and the ability to develop strategies, monitor markets, and report performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or related quantitative field required.
• Master's degree or trading certifications are a strong plus.
• Minimum 5 years of proven experience in commodities trading, preferably with exposure to Richards Bay's industrial base.

Responsibilities

• Execute trades in commodity markets (energy, metals, agriculture) to meet objectives.
• Monitor market trends, news, and geopolitical events affecting prices.
• Develop and implement trading strategies to maximize returns and manage risk.
• Analyze market data and identify trading opportunities.
• Manage and hedge positions to mitigate losses.
• Collaborate with logistics, operations, and risk teams for execution.
• Maintain trading records and provide performance reports.
