The role requires a strong quantitative background, 5+ years in commodities trading, and the ability to develop strategies, monitor markets, and report performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or related quantitative field required.
• Master's degree or trading certifications are a strong plus.
• Minimum 5 years of proven experience in commodities trading, preferably with exposure to Richards Bay's industrial base.

About the Role

Our client, a prominent international trading house, is seeking an experienced and results-driven Commodities Trader to join their team in the strategic location of Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal . This role is crucial for managing and executing trades across various commodity markets, optimizing positions, and driving profitability. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of global commodity dynamics, risk management, and trading strategies. This position is based full-time at our Richards Bay office, given the operational nature and market access required. You will be at the forefront of market movements, making critical decisions that impact our client's trading portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute trades in specified commodity markets (e.g., energy, metals, agricultural products) to meet strategic objectives.
• Monitor market trends, news, and geopolitical events that may impact commodity prices.
• Develop and implement effective trading strategies to maximize returns and manage risk.
• Analyze market data and identify trading opportunities.
• Manage and hedge positions to mitigate potential losses.

Requirements
