Placements24 seeks a skilled Legal Advisor specializing in commercial contracts for our Benoni-based legal department. The role involves drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a high volume of agreements, advising internal stakeholders on terms, risks, and compliance to support robust business transactions.

The ideal candidate holds an LLB and SA admission with 5+ years in commercial contract law, excellent written and verbal communication, and strong analytical capabilities.

Qualifications

• LLB or equivalent.
• Admission as an Attorney/Advocate in South Africa.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in commercial contract law.
• Proven drafting, reviewing and negotiating diverse commercial agreements.
• Strong understanding of contract law principles and SA commercial legislation.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a high volume of commercial agreements (service, supply, partnerships, NDAs).
• Provide expert legal advice on contractual terms, compliance and liabilities.
• Ensure contracts comply with laws, regulations and company policies.
• Manage contract lifecycle including revisions, renewals, terminations.
• Conduct legal research to support contract interpretation and dispute resolution.
• Collaborate with procurement, sales and other departments to translate business needs into contracts.
• Assist in developing standard contract templates and legal policies.
• Identify and mitigate potential legal risks in contracts.
