Placements24 is seeking a Senior Commercial Contracts Lawyer for a fully remote role based in South Africa. The role focuses on drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements within a remote-first environment.

You will support global business operations, provide strategic legal guidance across departments, and develop standard templates to drive efficiency while mitigating risk.

Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa with 6+ years post-qualification in commercial contracts.
• Proven track record drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements in the technology sector.
• In-depth knowledge of contract and commercial law; strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment.
• Experience with international contracts is a significant advantage.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate SaaS agreements, vendor contracts, partnership agreements and NDAs.
• Provide strategic legal advice on contractual matters, risk assessment and mitigation.
• Advise business teams on contract interpretation, compliance, and dispute resolution.
• Develop and maintain standard contract templates and playbooks for consistency.
• Manage the contract lifecycle from drafting through renewal.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to translate business needs into legal protections.
• Stay updated on laws affecting commercial contracts and the technology industry.
• Assist in implementing contract management systems and processes.
