Placements24 is seeking an experienced Lead Software Engineer to guide the cloud solutions team in Randburg in a hybrid role. You will design, develop, and deploy scalable cloud-native applications and infrastructure, lead engineers, and drive best practices across architecture, development, and operations.

You will mentor junior developers, collaborate with product managers to define technical roadmaps, and champion DevOps, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code to deliver reliable cloud solutions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience leading software engineering teams.
• Expertise in microservices architecture and distributed systems.
• Strong in at least one modern language (Python/Java/Go/C#).
• Deep knowledge of containers and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and architecture of scalable cloud-based apps and services.
• Oversee development lifecycle from coding to maintenance of cloud solutions.
• Mentor engineers and promote technical excellence.
• Partner with product managers to define roadmaps and requirements.
• Champion DevOps practices including CI/CD and IaC.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues.
