Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Cloud Solutions Architect to design and implement cloud strategies for its Cape Town operations. This hybrid role requires translating business needs into secure, scalable architectures and leading cross‑functional teams.

You will shape cloud programs across AWS/Azure/GCP, guide IaC adoption, and ensure cost optimisation and security while delivering high performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's preferred.
• Proven experience as a Cloud Architect or in a similar senior cloud engineering role.
• In-depth knowledge of at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and their core services.
• Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Strong understanding of networking, security, and compliance in cloud environments.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and architect robust, scalable, and secure cloud solutions on platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Develop migration strategies and roadmaps for moving existing on-premises applications to the cloud.
• Provide technical leadership on cloud best practices, security standards, and cost optimization.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to implement and manage cloud infrastructure.
• Evaluate and recommend new cloud services and technologies to meet evolving business needs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to cloud infrastructure and services.
