Placements24 is seeking a Senior Cloud Solutions Architect to join a remote-first team in South Africa. You will design, build, and deploy scalable cloud solutions across AWS, Azure, and GCP, mentor junior engineers, and align with security and cost objectives.

Formación

• 5+ years of experience as a Cloud Solutions Architect.
• Strong proficiency in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with IaC tools Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Proficient in Python or Bash scripting.
• Knowledge of containers (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud networking.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder presentation skills.
• Relevant cloud certifications are highly desirable.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust, scalable, and secure cloud solutions on platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Develop comprehensive architectural blueprints and migration strategies for complex enterprise environments.
• Collaborate closely with development, operations, and business teams to understand requirements and deliver tailored cloud solutions.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior architects and engineers.
• Conduct architectural reviews and assessments to ensure compliance with best practices and security standards.
• Optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, cost-efficiency, and reliability.
• Stay abreast of emerging cloud technologies and trends, recommending their adoption where appropriate.
• Develop and maintain clear documentation for architectural designs and solutions.

Requirements

• Proven track record (5+ years) as a Cloud Solutions Architect, with a strong emphasis on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Deep understanding of cloud networking, security, compute, storage, and database services.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
• Strong understanding of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, with experience presenting technical solutions to stakeholders.
• Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are highly desirable.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fully **remote** setting.
