Job summary

Placements24 in Richards Bay is seeking a Cloud Security Specialist to join a remote-first security team. You will design, implement and maintain security measures across AWS, Azure and GCP to protect sensitive data and applications in the cloud.

The role focuses on automation with Terraform and Ansible, continuous monitoring of security postures, and rapid response to incidents, collaborating with development and operations to ensure secure cloud deployments and operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 3-5 years of experience focused on cloud security.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation tools for security management.
• Strong understanding of cloud networking, IAM, and data encryption.
• Experience with container security (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Implement and manage security controls within cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Develop and automate security processes and infrastructure using tools like Terraform and Ansible.
• Monitor cloud security posture, identify misconfigurations, and remediate vulnerabilities.
• Respond to cloud-specific security incidents and perform forensic analysis.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure secure cloud deployments and operations.
