Job summary

Sabenza IT & Recruitment in Cape Town seeks an senior Platform Engineer to architect and deliver scalable, production-grade platforms for engineering teams. You will drive self-service capabilities, AWS-based cloud architectures, and Kubernetes-based platforms with a strong focus on automation and observability.

You will implement GitOps practices with ArgoCD/Flux, define IaC strategies using Terraform, CDK, Pulumi, and Crossplane, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Platform Engineering experience building self-service platforms for engineering teams.
• 6+ years of Public Cloud experience with strong hands-on AWS experience.
• 6+ years of containerisation and container platforms experience.
• Strong experience with Kubernetes GitOps using ArgoCD / Flux and Helm/Kustomize.
• Experience with monitoring/observability tools like CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, X-Ray.
• Solid knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions and GitLab CI/CD.
• Proven track record building complex production-grade platforms for self-service engineering teams.
• Hands-on with Crossplane, ArgoCD and Backstage.
• Proven experience building Kubernetes Operators.

Responsibilities
