Job summary

ATS Client in Johannesburg is seeking a Platform Cloud Engineer to design, build, and operate scalable, cloud-native platforms using Kubernetes on AWS. You will own CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes administration, and infrastructure as code to support enterprise-scale applications.

The role emphasizes automation, observability, and secure, well-architected cloud solutions, with opportunities to work across Terraform, CloudFormation, Helm, ArgoCD, and modern DevOps practices.

Qualifications

Experience designing and operating scalable, containerised platforms on AWS.
Strong Kubernetes administration and cloud-native tooling experience.
Proven ability to implement IaC using Terraform, CloudFormation or CDK.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and GitOps practices.
Solid Linux fundamentals and automation scripting.

Responsibilities

Manage and build CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
Own Kubernetes administration: ingress, networking, RBAC.
Enhance observability and monitoring (SLOs/SLIs/SLAs, alerting).
Use IaC tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Crossplane.
Oversee release management and deployment best practices.
