Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Software Engineer specializing in cloud-native development to design, implement, and deploy scalable microservices-based solutions. You will work in a hybrid office setting in Vereeniging, collaborating with product, QA, and operations.

Strong experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and major cloud platforms is required. In this role you will lead technical initiatives, mentor engineers, and contribute to architectural direction while following CI/CD best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience focused on cloud-native development.
• Proficiency in at least one major programming language (Go, Java, Python, Node.js).
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy cloud-native applications.
• Build and manage containerized apps with Docker and orchestrate with Kubernetes.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, tests, and deployments.
• Work with cloud platforms to deploy infrastructure.
• Implement microservices architectures and ensure secure, scalable services.
• Write clean, well-tested code and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technology selection.
