Job summary

thyssenkrupp Uhde South Africa seeks a Senior Civil & Structural Engineer to join the Durban team. You will lead design efforts in coastal industrial facilities, coordinating with client teams and other disciplines to shape scope and deliverables.

The ideal candidate holds a BSc Civil Engineering, 10 years’ experience (15+ preferred) and R egistration with ECSA. LPG/cryogenic project exposure and brownfield EPC knowledge are highly regarded.

Qualifications

• Holder of a BSc Civil Engineering degree with significant design-house experience.
• 10 years of engineering experience required; 15+ years preferred for seniority.
• Professional Registration with ECSA is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineer on projects from feasibility to commissioning.
• Perform manpower planning and project schedule management.
• Prepare Scope of Work and manage consultants to deliver to scope, quality and schedule.
• Execute projects within schedule and budget.
• Prepare design criteria and specifications for civil/structural works.
• Participate in PFD and P&ID reviews, HAZOPs and constructability reviews.
• Liaise with other engineering disciplines and gather information for designs.
