Placements24 is seeking a Civil Project Engineer for water and wastewater infrastructure projects in East London, Eastern Cape. You will lead design, planning, and execution, coordinate with clients and regulators, and manage budgets and schedules.

The role requires a BEng in Civil Engineering with water resources or environmental focus, 7+ years of experience, and strong leadership. Hybrid work allows site visits with office collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with water resources or environmental focus.
• 7+ years of progressive design and project management experience in water/wastewater.
• Pr Eng registration with ECSA is desirable.
• Experience managing complex projects from inception to completion.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and hydraulic modeling.
• Knowledge of SA environmental regulations and permitting.

Responsibilities

• Manage the design, planning, and execution of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Oversee project teams, including junior engineers and technicians, to ensure project objectives are met.
• Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, contractors, and regulatory agencies throughout project phases.
• Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation.
• Ensure all designs and construction activities comply with relevant engineering standards, regulations, and environmental policies.
• Conduct site investigations, feasibility studies, and site assessments.
• Prepare and review technical reports, design documents, specifications, and tender packages.
• Monitor construction progress, quality, and safety on project sites.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, resolving technical and logistical issues promptly.
• Contribute to business development efforts, including proposal preparation and client presentations.
• Champion sustainable engineering practices in all project aspects.
• Communicate project status and key information to management and stakeholders regularly.
