WhatJobs Direct is seeking a Senior Civil Infrastructure Engineer for our Durban, KwaZulu-Natal office. You will lead design, development, and delivery of roads, water, and wastewater systems, supervising project teams and liaising with authorities to ensure compliance and quality.

You will manage budgets and schedules, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to business development. Must have Pr.Eng. status and 7+ years' experience in municipal infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Pr.Eng. registration with ECSA is mandatory.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in civil infrastructure design and project management.
• Proven experience with municipal infrastructure projects (roads, water, sewer, stormwater).
• Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software (EPANET, SWMM).
• Strong understanding of SA national and municipal standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of civil infrastructure projects, including roads, highways, water, and wastewater systems.
• Prepare detailed engineering designs, drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
• Conduct site investigations, feasibility studies, and impact assessments.
• Manage project lifecycles from conception through to construction and commissioning.
• Oversee and mentor junior engineers and technical staff on projects.
• Liaise with clients, government authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
• Ensure all designs comply with national and local building codes, regulations, and environmental standards.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation effectively.
• Perform quality control and assurance on engineering deliverables.
• Contribute to the company's technical expertise and business development efforts.

• Experience in tender preparation and contract administration.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within KwaZulu-Natal.
