Qualifications

• Pr. Eng. registration with ECSA is mandatory.
• Minimum 8 years of proven experience in the design and management of civil infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of road design, stormwater management, traffic engineering, and municipal services.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of civil infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, stormwater drainage, and water reticulation systems.
• Manage project lifecycles from conceptualization and feasibility studies through to detailed design, construction, and handover.
• Prepare detailed engineering designs, drawings, specifications, and contract documentation.
• Oversee and mentor junior civil engineers and technical staff, providing guidance and quality control.
• Conduct site investigations, surveys, and feasibility assessments for new infrastructure projects.
• Ensure all designs and construction activities comply with relevant SANS, municipal bylaws, and environmental regulations.
• Liaise with clients, government authorities, and other consultants to coordinate project requirements and approvals.
• Manage project resources, budgets, and timelines to ensure efficient and timely project completion.
• Supervise construction activities, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to design specifications.

• Proficiency in relevant design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, relevant hydrological modeling software, and project management tools.
• Demonstrated experience managing complex projects and leading engineering teams.
• Strong understanding of South African construction and procurement processes.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet challenging deadlines.
• A valid driver's license and willingness to undertake site visits within KwaZulu-Natal.
