Job summary

NOA is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to own the civil scope across a growing multi‑GW renewable energy portfolio in South Africa. You will review EPC designs, manage site conditions, and coordinate interfaces with other engineering teams while supporting project managers and the Head of Engineering.

The role requires at least 12 years in civil engineering, four years in utility-scale renewables or heavy civil construction, and SA regulatory familiarity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering — essential.
• Professional registration with ECSA as a Pr Eng or Candidate Engineer — essential.
• Postgraduate qualification in geotechnical, structural, or project management — advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Own civil governance across NOA's portfolio and review design deliverables.
• Monitor civil construction progress and manage RFIs, NCRs and variations.
• Coordinate civil interfaces with electrical, HV and grid disciplines.
• Brief and manage Owner’s Engineer scope and ensure deliverables meet quality standards.
• Identify and manage civil risks across multiple projects and support lender due diligence.
