Job summary
Responsible Us in Cape Town seeks a Senior Renewable Energy Engineer to anchor end-to-end consultancy projects across solar and wind. You will lead technical due diligence and Owner's Engineer services from feasibility through operation, coordinating cross-functional teams and advising lenders and sponsors.
The role requires 5+ years in renewables, strong contract negotiation skills, and travel across Africa.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Engineering or equivalent, with renewable energy focus.
- Minimum of 5 years in renewable energy, 3–5 years in wind/solar consultancy.
- Experience as both Lender's and Owner's Technical Advisor for due diligence.
- Fluent in English; French and/or Portuguese are advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical due diligence assignments through financial close.
- Oversee Owner's Engineer activities from feasibility to operation.
- Manage feasibility studies, construction monitoring, and EPC/O&M tender prep.
- Review contracts (EPC, O&M, PPA, WTG) for solar and wind projects.
- Coordinate with stakeholders and ensure timely project milestones.
- Conduct on-site testing, inspections, and commissioning activities.
