Job summary

Placements24 is recruiting a Senior Civil Engineer in Mahikeng to lead design and delivery of infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges and water systems, ensuring quality, safety and sustainability from planning through construction.

The role requires 8+ years of experience, ECSA Pr. Eng registration, a Civil Engineering degree, and strong leadership and client liaison skills. Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D and knowledge of SA codes are essential. Hybrid work model offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Professional registration with ECSA as a Pr. Eng.
• A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in civil engineering, with a strong focus on infrastructure projects.
• Proven track record in managing complex projects from initiation to closure.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar software.
• Excellent understanding of South African building codes, environmental regulations, and contract administration.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of civil engineering projects including roads, bridges, water systems, and drainage structures.
• Conduct site investigations, feasibility studies, and impact assessments for project planning.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
• Oversee construction activities, ensuring adherence to designs, timelines, and budgets.
• Manage project teams, including junior engineers and technical staff, providing mentorship and guidance.
• Liaise with clients, government authorities, and stakeholders to meet project objectives.
• Perform quality control and assurance checks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations.
• Contribute to innovative engineering solutions and sustainable design practices.
