Placements24 is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to lead design, planning, and supervision of major civil projects in George, Western Cape. The role requires coordinating with architects, contractors and government agencies to ensure successful project delivery.

The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving and the ability to manage multiple projects in a hybrid office/remote setup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in civil engineering design and project management.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng) registration with ECSA or equivalent is essential.
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and other relevant design tools.
• Strong knowledge of South African building codes, regulations and environmental standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of civil engineering projects, including roads, bridges, water systems, and drainage structures.
• Conduct site investigations, feasibility studies, and detailed technical assessments.
• Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
• Oversee construction activities, ensuring adherence to design specs, safety standards and timelines.
• Manage project budgets, resources, and contractor performance.
• Liaise with clients, regulatory bodies and stakeholders to ensure project success and compliance.
