Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Lead Civil Engineer to head major infrastructure projects in the Cape Town region. You will steer design, planning and execution with a focus on safety, sustainability and efficiency.

The role calls for a Pr.Eng registration with ECSA, 10+ years in civil design and project management, and strong leadership of multi-disciplinary teams. Hybrid work model with site oversight is offered along with development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Pr.Eng registration with ECSA or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 10 years in civil infrastructure design and project management.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary projects with strong stakeholder management.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D and structural analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of large-scale civil projects (roads, bridges, water systems).
• Oversee site investigations, feasibility studies and impact assessments.
• Prepare detailed drawings, specifications and tender docs.
• Manage construction activities, quality, safety, and budgets.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and technicians.
