Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Senior Chemical Process Engineer to join our client’s Richards Bay operations. You will oversee and enhance complex chemical processes, lead improvement initiatives, and mentor a team of engineers and technicians on-site.

The role emphasizes safety, compliance, and operational excellence within a heavy industrial plant environment, with relocation support where applicable.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Chemical Engineering.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in chemical process engineering, with heavy industrial exposure.
• Experience with process simulation software, thermodynamic modeling and control systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation and optimization of large-scale chemical processes.
• Conduct detailed process analysis, identify bottlenecks and drive efficiency/cost reductions.
• Oversee HAZOP studies and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Develop P&IDs, mass and energy balances, and equipment specifications.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers and technicians.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance and project teams for smooth plant operation.
