Job summary

Placements24 in South Africa is seeking a hands‑on Chemical Process Engineer to support and optimize our Richards Bay plant operations. You will troubleshoot production issues, implement process improvements, and ensure safe, high‑quality day‑to‑day running of our chemical manufacturing facilities.

This role collaborates with the operations team to monitor performance, update P&IDs, and contribute to commissioning of new equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• 2–4 years of experience in chemical plant operations or process engineering.
• Familiarity with process control systems (DCS/PLC) and instrumentation.
• Strong understanding of chemical engineering fundamentals and unit operations.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate technical information clearly.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Monitor plant performance metrics and identify opportunities for process optimization.
• Provide technical support to the operations team for troubleshooting and resolving production issues.
• Implement process changes and improvements to enhance efficiency, safety, and product quality.
• Ensure all operations comply with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
• Assist in the development and execution of commissioning plans for new equipment or process modifications.
• Maintain and update process documentation, including P&IDs and operating procedures.
