Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Chemical Process Engineer for a fully remote role. You will design, optimize, and troubleshoot complex chemical processes across diverse industrial applications, driving efficiency and sustainability in a virtual, cross-functional environment.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of experience in process design, strong simulation skills (Aspen HYSYS, ChemCAD), and a proven track record of delivering large engineering projects with safety in mind.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years in process design and optimization in chemical/petrochemical sectors.
• Proficient in process simulation and data analysis tools.
• Strong thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and reaction kinetics knowledge.
• Excellent communication and ability to work remotely with a team.
• Proven track record of managing complex engineering projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize chemical process designs, incl. PFDs, P&IDs, equipment specs.
• Run process simulations and modeling with industry tools (Aspen HYSYS, ChemCAD).
• Perform feasibility studies and economic evaluations for new technologies.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and improve plant performance and yield.
• Ensure safety, environmental and regulatory compliance in design and operation.
• Collaborate with R&D, operations, and PM teams in a remote setting.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and innovative Senior Chemical Process Engineer to join their dynamic team. You will be instrumental in designing, optimizing, and troubleshooting complex chemical processes for a variety of industrial applications. This role requires a deep understanding of chemical engineering principles, advanced simulation tools, and a proactive approach to problem‑solving in a collaborative virtual environment. You will play a key role in driving efficiency, safety, and sustainability across our client's operations, working with a diverse team of professionals dedicated to pushing the boundaries of chemical engineering.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize chemical process designs , including PFDs, P&IDs, and equipment specifications.
• Conduct process simulations and modeling using industry-standard software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, ChemCAD).
• Perform feasibility studies and economic evaluations for new process technologies and plant modifications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues in existing plants, implementing solutions to improve performance and yield.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory standards in process design and operation.
