You will work in a hybrid setup, balancing studio time with remote collaboration, and contribute to shaping the visual identity of upcoming titles.

Formación

• 5+ years of professional experience as a Character Artist in game development.
• Strong understanding of human and creature anatomy and proportion.
• Portfolio demonstrating high-quality character art and technical proficiency.
• Experience optimizing assets for real-time engines such as Unreal Engine or Unity.

Responsabilidades

• Create high-quality 3D character models, including sculpting, retopology, UV unwrapping, and texture painting.
• Collaborate with the art director to establish and maintain character art style and quality standards.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and passionate Senior Character Artist to join their talented team in Nelspruit . You will be responsible for creating high-fidelity, visually stunning character models for a variety of exciting projects. This role requires a deep understanding of anatomy, form, and artistic style, coupled with proficiency in industry-standard 3D modeling and texturing software. You will collaborate closely with the art director, animators, and other artists to bring compelling characters to life, ensuring they meet both artistic and technical requirements. This is a prime opportunity to shape the visual identity of key characters in our upcoming titles.

Key Responsibilities

• Create high-quality 3D character models, including sculpting, retopology, UV unwrapping, and texture painting.

Requirements

• Expertise in 3D modeling software (e.g., Maya, Blender) and sculpting tools (e.g., ZBrush).
• Proficiency with texturing software (e.g., Substance Painter, Photoshop) and creating PBR materials.
• Strong understanding of human and creature anatomy, form, and proportion.
• Experience optimizing assets for real-time engines (e.g., Unreal Engine, Unity).
• Excellent portfolio demonstrating high-quality character art and technical proficiency.
