Job summary

Boardroom Appointments is seeking a Change Control Manager to safeguard continuous IT service availability by governing change requests in live production environments. The role oversees the change control lifecycle and ensures minimal disruption of services.

You will lead change control processes, assess risks, prioritize changes, and coordinate with technical teams while following ITIL practices. A bachelor's degree in CS/IT and 3+ years in change control/release management are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Information Technology.
• At least 3 years' experience in change control and/or release management in an IT services environment.
• Experience working with internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience analyzing processes and recommending improvements.
• Experience leading a team of experts in change control/release management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the change control strategy, policy, and method.
• Apply ITIL principles to relevant policy and processes.
• Lead the complete change management lifecycle for simple changes and ensure successful execution.
• Classify and prioritize change requests by importance, impact and complexity.
• Assess risk and technical impact and coordinate with the appropriate technical teams.
• Plan, coordinate and prioritize changes with relatedness and priority; track, manage and report fulfilment.
• Participate in review boards to assess changes and analyze the process.
• Produce reports on change volumes, types and failure rates.
• Coach and develop teams to achieve objectives.

Key purpose

The role of Change Control Management is to ensure the continuous availability of IT services through themanagement and governance of change requests.
This role ensures that all changes introduced in the clients live production environment happens in acontrolled and coordinated manner, ensuring minimal disruption of services.
Change Control Management ensures that standardized methods and procedures are in place for efficienthandling of all change requests.

Duties and responsibilities

• Ensures the development and implementation of the change control strategy, process,policy, and method
• Ensures the application of principles and disciplines as prescribed by ITIL to relevant policyand processes
• Takes control of the complete change management lifecycle for simple changes and
  ensures the management of this process to successful execution
• Ensures that any change requests are classified and prioritised based on importance,impact and complexity
• Manages the assessment of risk and technical impact associated with the change requestand ensures that the correct technical team resolves or deals with the matter
• Ensures the planning, coordination, and prioritization of changes based on relatedness andpriority and ensures schedules are in place to track, manage and report on the fulfilment ofchange requests
• Participates in review boards as required to review the success of changes implementedand to conduct an analysis of the process
• Manages the reporting on metrics that relates to the reporting of the volume of changes,types of changes, and no failures of changes
• Manages, coaches, mentors and develops a team(s) to achieve team and organizationalobjectives
