Job summary

Placements24 in South Africa seeks a Senior Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Specialist to drive advanced simulations from a fully remote setup. The role focuses on external and internal aerodynamics, heat transfer and multiphase flows across automotive, aerospace and energy sectors.

The ideal candidate holds 7+ years of CFD experience, with expertise in ANSYS Fluent, STAR-CCM+ or OpenFOAM, and strong scripting skills in Python for automation. Remote work within SA is supported.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of professional CFD experience.
• Strong background in turbulence modeling and numerical methods.
• Proficiency with ANSYS Fluent, STAR-CCM+, or OpenFOAM.
• Experience with meshing tools and HPC is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex CFD simulations for external/internal aerodynamics and thermal management.
• Develop and validate CFD models, meshing strategies, solver setups and post-processing workflows.
• Mentor junior CFD engineers and analysts.
• Create scripts to automate workflows and enhance efficiency.
• Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to define simulation objectives.
• Present findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
