Placements24 is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer (Fluid Dynamics) for a fully remote role within South Africa. You will lead CFD analyses, develop models, and validate results to optimize complex fluid systems.

Collaboration with global teams and mentorship of junior engineers will be key components of the role. The position requires 7+ years in mechanical engineering with a focus on CFD, expertise in ANSYS Fluent/COMSOL, and strong Python/MATLAB skills.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional experience in mechanical engineering with a focus on fluid dynamics and CFD.
• Proficient in ANSYS Fluent and COMSOL for high-fidelity simulations.
• Strong programming skills in Python or MATLAB for data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Conduct advanced CFD simulations to analyze and optimize fluid flow, heat transfer, and mass transfer phenomena.
• Develop and validate mathematical models for complex fluid systems, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
• Design and oversee experimental testing of fluid systems, interpreting results and correlating with simulation data.
• Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers to integrate fluidic components into larger product designs.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, presentations, and documentation for internal stakeholders and clients.
• Identify and evaluate new technologies and methodologies in fluid dynamics to enhance product performance and efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex engineering issues related to fluid systems remotely.
• Contribute to the overall mechanical design process, providing expertise on fluidic aspects.
• Mentor junior engineers on best practices in fluid dynamics analysis and simulation.
• Maintain a strong understanding of industry trends and emerging technologies in fluid dynamics.
