Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Control and Instrumentation (C&I) Engineer to join its Cape Town or Midrand team. The role focuses on producing and overseeing C&I designs, project financial planning, BIM/CAD resource planning, and providing technical guidance across projects with ELV exposure.

The successful candidate will independently run projects, manage stakeholders, oversee PLC/DCS and SCADA/HMI integrations, ensure safety and quality, and uphold SANS/ANSI standards within a collaborative

Qualifications

• BEng/BSc/BTech in Electrical Engineering and ECSA registration.
• Minimum 10 years in C&I engineering with ELV exposure.
• Experience in budgeting, scheduling and resource planning.
• Familiarity with SANS 10142 and related standards.

Responsibilities

• Formulate and oversee C&I designs, processes and procedures.
• Propose budgets and timelines; collaborate across disciplines.
• Ensure quality and provide technical leadership to the C&I team.
• Lead opportunities for new projects and process improvements.
• Deliver comprehensive C&I project presentations internally and externally.
• Coordinate TTC/commissioning QA and tender deliverables.
• Promote safety, equality and alignment with policies.
• Create designs for industrial networks (fiber, TCP, serial).
• Develop integration with 3rd party controllers via OPC/API.
