PURPOSE OF ROLE
We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer/Technologist – Control & Instrumentation to provide technical expertise and discipline leadership in the delivery of compliant, cost-effective and constructible C&I engineering designs across the full project lifecycle, from tender to handover.
In this role, you will ensure professional engineering outputs are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with client requirements, applicable codes and standards, and internal engineering management systems. As a technical lead within projects, you will mentor junior staff and support proposal development, procurement, commissioning and handover activities.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Engineering Design & Technical Leadership
- Develop and review C&I engineering designs.
- Produce technical specifications and design calculations.
- Ensure compliance with applicable engineering codes and standards.
- Review and approve engineering drawings and documentation.
- Provide technical guidance to project engineers and designers.
Project Engineering & Design Delivery
- Deliver engineering outputs within project schedules.
- Monitor design progress against project milestones.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering interfaces.
- Manage engineering changes and configuration control.
- Support project planning and technical decision-making.
Tendering, Procurement & Technical Support
- Prepare technical inputs for tenders and proposals.
- Develop procurement specifications for equipment and services.
- Evaluate supplier technical submissions.
- Support technical clarification meetings with clients and vendors.
- Participate in contract and scope reviews.
Testing, Commissioning & Quality Assurance
- Review commissioning and testing procedures.
- Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs).
- Support site testing and commissioning activities.
- Verify compliance with quality and technical requirements.
- Resolve technical issues during project execution.
Compliance, Risk & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure compliance with nuclear and industry regulations.
- Identify and mitigate engineering risks.
- Participate in design reviews and quality audits.
- Promote continuous improvement of engineering processes.
- Mentor junior engineers and share technical knowledge.
QUALIFICATION
- BSc / BEng / BTech in Control & Instrumentation Engineering.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer/Technologist with ECSA or an equivalent professional body.
- Recognised or authorised Safety Evaluator status (e.g., 10 CFR 50.59 or equivalent) required
EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of 10-15 years' relevant experience in multidisciplinary engineering design.
- Proven experience on nuclear projects, preferably within PWR facilities.
- Experience across design, tendering and project execution environments.
