Job summary

Sabenza IT & Recruitment in Johannesburg seeks an experienced Business Analyst to bridge business and build teams. You will turn incomplete or verbal requirements into signed-off functional specs and detailed technical specs, owning each requirement end-to-end.

Qualifications

7+ years as a Business Analyst or Systems Analyst, writing both functional and technical specifications.
A relevant degree or diploma in IT, Information Systems or Business.
IIBA CBAP/CCBA or similar is an advantage.
Strong BPMN process modelling skills and experience in requirements elicitation.
A sound technical grasp of data models, APIs and integrations, data migration and non-functional requirements.
Experience working in Agile delivery, with backlog management, user stories and definition of ready.
Hands-on support of SIT and UAT, including defect triage.
Excellent written and verbal communication with both business and technical audiences.

Responsibilities

Run workshops, interviews and process walkthroughs with stakeholders and operations teams.
Challenge stated requirements to find the real business need and resolve gaps and assumptions.
Map as-is and to-be processes and flag regulatory and data-protection impacts.
Write functional specifications covering flows, use cases, rules and acceptance criteria.
Create technical specs covering data models, API contracts and data migration mappings.
Collaborate with solution architects and developers on feasibility and constraints.
Maintain the requirements traceability matrix and groom the backlog.
Support build, SIT and UAT, triage defects and distinguish defects from change requests.
Run impact assessments on change requests and align scope among stakeholders.
