Placements24 in Sandton, Gauteng, seeks a Senior Building Systems Maintenance Technician to oversee maintenance of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, and access control across a flagship commercial property.

You will lead preventive maintenance, diagnose faults, coordinate contractors, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations while supporting building management systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong focus on comprehensive building systems maintenance.
• Proven expertise in troubleshooting and repairing HVAC systems, electrical distribution, plumbing systems, and fire suppression systems.
• Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS) and their operation.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals for various building systems.
• Strong understanding of health and safety regulations in commercial building environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety systems.
• Diagnose and repair faults in building machinery and systems promptly and efficiently.
• Conduct regular inspections of building systems to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Respond to maintenance requests and emergency calls from building occupants and management.
• Oversee the operation of building management systems (BMS) and related control equipment.
• Maintain detailed logs of all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
• Manage and coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs.
• Ensure all maintenance work adheres to strict health and safety standards.
• Assist in the installation and commissioning of new building equipment.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior maintenance staff.
