The role involves leading structural design for bridge projects, ensuring code compliance and safe construction. This on-site position requires extensive experience in bridge engineering and project delivery.

You'll mentor junior engineers, collaborate with design teams and contractors, manage budgets and schedules, and contribute innovative solutions to complex bridge works in the Durban region.

Qualifikationen

• BEng/BSc or MEng/MSc in Civil Engineering with structural emphasis.
• Professional registration as PrEng with ECSA.
• 8+ years of bridge design and construction experience.
• Proficient with structural analysis software and CAD tools.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Aufgaben

• Lead structural design and analysis of new bridges and rehabilitation of existing structures.
• Prepare detailed design calculations, drawings and specs for bridge components.
• Ensure compliance with SANS and other relevant codes and regulations.
• Perform site inspections and provide structural support during construction.
• Collaborate with road designers, environmental specialists and contractors.
• Review submittals, respond to site queries and resolve construction issues.
• Manage project timelines and budgets for structural elements.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians, provide technical guidance.
• Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies and method statements.
• Develop innovative design solutions and stay updated on bridge engineering advances.
