Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience, with 3+ years in blockchain/Web3.
• Proficiency in Solidity, Rust or Go.
• Experience with blockchain frameworks (Hardhat, Truffle, Brownie).
• Strong understanding of consensus, cryptography and distributed ledgers.
• Experience building and deploying dApps.
• Familiarity with React or Vue.js and Web3 libraries (ethers.js, web3.js).
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

About the Role

Our client, a visionary startup at the forefront of Web3 innovation, is seeking a talented Senior Blockchain Engineer to join their expanding team. This position is based in the vibrant tech hub of Stellenbosch, Western Cape , but offers a fully remote working arrangement, allowing you to contribute from anywhere. You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and deploying decentralized applications and core blockchain infrastructure. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of smart contracts, distributed systems, and has a passion for building the next generation of the internet. This role requires strong technical skills, a collaborative spirit, and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy secure and scalable smart contracts on various blockchain platforms.
• Build and maintain decentralized applications (dApps) and integrate them with existing systems.
• Contribute to the architecture and roadmap of our core blockchain products.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define and implement new features.
• Write high-quality, well-documented, and thoroughly tested code.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
• Troubleshoot and debug complex issues across the blockchain stack.
• Research and evaluate new blockchain technologies and protocols.
• Ensure the security and performance of all deployed blockchain solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 3 years focused on blockchain and Web3 technologies.
• Proficiency in smart contract programming languages like Solidity, Rust, or Go.
• Strong experience with blockchain frameworks (e.g., Hardhat, Truffle, Brownie).
• Deep understanding of blockchain fundamentals, including consensus algorithms, cryptography, and distributed ledgers.
• Experience developing and deploying decentralized applications (dApps).
• Familiarity with front-end technologies (React, Vue.js) and integrating with Web3 libraries (ethers.js, web3.js) is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (Docker) is advantageous.
