Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Blockchain Developer in Pietermaritzburg to design, develop, and deploy secure smart contracts and dApps. You will work across Ethereum and Binance Smart Chain, applying best practices in security and audits.

You will mentor juniors, collaborate with product teams, and stay ahead of blockchain trends, while enjoying a flexible hybrid work setup in KwaZulu-Natal.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum 5 years of software development, with at least 3 years in blockchain/smart contract development.
• Proficiency in Solidity, Rust, or Go.
• Strong understanding of blockchain concepts, cryptography, and consensus mechanisms.
• Experience with blockchain dev frameworks and tools (Truffle, Hardhat, Web3.js, Ethers.js).
• Track record of secure, audited smart contracts and dApps.
• Familiar with multiple blockchain networks and ecosystems.
• Excellent problem-solving, attention to detail, and security mindset.
• Strong communication and collaboration in a hybrid team in Pietermaritzburg.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy secure smart contracts across platforms like Ethereum and BSC.
• Architect scalable decentralized applications (dApps) leveraging blockchain tech.
• Perform thorough code reviews and security audits of contracts and components.
