Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Blockchain Developer to design, develop, and deploy scalable smart contracts and DApps in a DeFi-focused team based in Randburg, Gauteng. You will drive architectural decisions and mentor engineers while delivering secure blockchain solutions.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years software experience with at least 3 years in blockchain, proficiency in Solidity/Rust/Vyper, and familiarity with Truffle/Hardhat/Web3.js/Ethers.js.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum 5 years of software development, with at least 3 years in blockchain.
• Proficiency in Solidity, Rust, or Vyper.
• Strong understanding of blockchain fundamentals: consensus, cryptography, distributed ledgers.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy secure smart contracts on Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain, Polygon, and other platforms.
• Build and maintain robust DApps with frontend integration and backend logic.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers and engineers to define requirements and specs.
• Conduct security audits, reviews, and performance optimizations for contracts and DApps.
• Stay updated on blockchain tech, cryptography, and best practices.
• Troubleshoot complex blockchain network issues across deployed apps.
• Mentor junior developers and promote technical excellence.
• Document designs, APIs, and processes clearly.
