Placements24 seeks a Senior Blockchain Developer in Mossel Bay, Western Cape, ZA, offering a hybrid work arrangement. You will design, develop, and deploy secure smart contracts and dApps, working with Solidity, Rust, and Go, and collaborating on crypto-enabled architectures.

The role requires 5+ years in software development with 3+ in blockchain, strong cryptography knowledge, and experience with Hardhat/Truffle; a Bachelor’s degree is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience, with at least 3 years focused on blockchain development.
• Proficiency in smart contract programming languages such as Solidity.
• Experience with blockchain development frameworks (e.g., Hardhat, Truffle).
• Deep understanding of blockchain architecture, distributed ledger technology, and cryptography.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy secure and efficient smart contracts on blockchain platforms (e.g., Ethereum, Solana, Polygon).
• Develop decentralized applications (dApps) and integrate them with smart contracts.
• Write high-quality, well-tested, and maintainable code in languages like Solidity, Rust, or Go.
• Optimize blockchain solutions for performance, scalability, and security.
• Collaborate with architects and other developers to define blockchain strategies and roadmaps.
• Implement cryptographic principles and security best practices for blockchain applications.
• Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance to junior developers.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in blockchain technology, cryptocurrencies, and decentralized finance.
• Troubleshoot and debug complex issues within the blockchain ecosystem.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of tokenomics and consensus mechanisms.
