The ideal candidate holds a PhD in Biotechnology or related field with 6+ years of experience in molecular biology, DNA manipulation, sequencing analysis, and CRISPR-Cas9 applications. Excellent communication and leadership skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Biotechnology, Genetics, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of post-doctoral or industry experience in genetic engineering.
• Proven expertise in molecular biology techniques, DNA manipulation, and sequencing analysis.
• Strong understanding of gene editing tools (e.g., CRISPR-Cas9) and their applications.
• Experience with bioinformatics tools for genomic data analysis.
• Excellent scientific writing and presentation skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead research projects and mentor junior scientists.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute experiments involving genetic engineering techniques, including gene editing and cloning.
• Develop and optimize protocols for the manipulation of microbial or plant genomes.
• Analyze genetic data and evaluate the efficacy of genetic modifications.
• Lead research projects from conceptualization through to proof-of-concept.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate genetic engineering insights into broader research goals.
• Mentor and guide junior researchers and technical staff.
• Ensure all laboratory activities comply with safety standards and regulatory guidelines in Kimberley.
