Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Biologist with a strong background in Molecular Biology to join our Randburg research team. You will lead complex experiments, develop novel assays, and contribute to identifying therapeutic targets.

The role requires mentoring junior scientists and overseeing project timelines in a dynamic, collaborative setting within Gauteng. The ideal candidate holds a PhD in Molecular Biology or related field, with 5+ years in research leadership, proficiency in CRISPR, NGS,

Qualifications

Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Genetics, or related field.
Minimum 5 years of relevant research, with project leadership.
Expertise in CRISPR, NGS, qPCR.
Proven ability to design and troubleshoot complex experiments.
Strong data analysis and interpretation skills.
Excellent leadership and collaboration for Randburg role.

Responsibilities

Lead and execute complex molecular biology experiments, including gene editing, cloning, and PCR-based assays.
Develop and validate new molecular assays for target identification and validation.
Analyze and interpret experimental data, presenting findings to research teams and management.
Manage research projects, including timelines, resources, and personnel.
Mentor and guide junior biologists and research associates.
Contribute to the writing of research reports, publications, and patent applications.
