Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Biomedical Engineer to join its East London R&D team to design, develop and test next generation medical devices and systems. You will translate clinical needs into robust engineering solutions and work with clinicians, scientists and engineers to advance patient care.

The role requires 6+ years in medical device development, strong physiology knowledge, and experience with design controls, regulatory standards, and CAD/simulation tools.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in the design and development of medical devices or healthcare technologies.
• Strong understanding of human physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology.
• Experience with medical device design controls, regulatory requirements, and quality systems.
• Proficiency in relevant design software (CAD, simulation tools) and testing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and prototype new medical devices and instrumentation, ensuring functionality and user safety.
• Conduct rigorous testing and validation of devices, adhering to established protocols and regulatory requirements.
• Perform design verification and validation (V&V) activities, generating comprehensive documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, marketing, regulatory affairs, and manufacturing.
• Analyze user needs and medical requirements to define product specifications.
• Troubleshoot design issues and implement effective solutions throughout the product lifecycle.
